Holly Area Schools Points of Pride

Holly Area Schools serves approximately 3,300 students in Northwest Oakland County. The district has four elementary schools, one middle school, one high school, and a campus for severely multiply impaired (SXI), severely cognitively impaired (SCI), and post-secondary students. Approximately 190 certified teachers with the vast majority boasting a Master’s Degree or above support our students each day.

Holly Area Schools earned systems accreditation from the AdvancED Systems Accreditation Commission in 2017.

HAS boasts an online curriculum platform, HAS Atlas Rubicon, that includes all of the K-12 Core and Co-Curricular course descriptions, units of study, and pacing guides. HAS invested in more technology in the fall of 2016 with over 800 new chromebook devices adding two additional computer labs at each school.

HAS offers a superior variety of early childhood education programs including Young Fives, Pre-K,
Infant/Toddler, Early Childhood Special Education, and Summer Learning Ladder Program.

Holly Area Schools is a genuine, caring community with supportive families. The district has great students, a hard-working staff with creative, innovative, and passionate teachers. There is a great deal of positive momentum across Holly Area Schools.

  • Silver Medal Award winner (US News and World Report) in the America’s Best High School rankings for 2016 (3rd US News recognition since 2013)
  • Achievement scores consistently above Oakland County and state of Michigan on M-STEP, ACT, and SAT
  • Exceptional athletic programs; Sportsmanship Award recognition in multiple sports in the Flint Metro League in the last 3 years
  • Achieved Emerald Green School status in 2016
  • The graduating class of 2016 earned over $5 million in scholarship offers.
  • 1 of only 4 Michigan high schools with a fully functioning outdoor trail onsite
  • 2:1 student to computer ratio (Apple, Google Chromebook, Microsoft)
  • Advanced Placement (AP) participation rate of 36% (exceeds both the Michigan and national average); Variety of AP subjects offered (24 different subject area tests for college credit)
  • Accredited online courses through Virtual High School have doubled to over 200. Online courses (1) fine-tune college and career interests in an affordable manner, (2) prepare students for college independence, collaboration and communication, and (3) provide flexible scheduling for students as needed.
  • Online credit recovery platform built into the school day for students using CCSS and Michigan content Standards aligned curriculum through Odysseyware
  • Holly High School Band consistently earns superior ratings at state and regional competitions and was recently featured in the PBS documentary series Forte. Recent national performances include:
    • The Outback Bowl in Tampa, Florida
    • The National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, D.C.
    • The University of Michigan, The Palace of Auburn Hills, Comerica Park
    • The Alamo Bowl in San Antonio, Texas
