The GSA Club at Holly High School stands for the Gay-Straight Alliance which falls under the umbrella of a Common Ground Group (equal footing and fair treatment for all students).  The purpose of this group is trying to create a safe and welcoming environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender students, and their friends. It is focused on trying to create a place for students to collaborate and discuss issues that are taking place in the school, in the community, and on a state and national level.  On top of that, we are trying to work productively in the community. We have participated and actively started school fundraisers for Blessings in a Backpack, Holly vs. Hunger, and the needs pantry at HHS. The Common Ground/GSA group has also created awareness through a school-wide program (Equality Week) that focused on socio-economic issues, race and ethnicity, gender discrimination, and LGBT issues.

We meet on every other Wednesday in Mr. Rapin's room (Rm 109). This is usually a student-led group with Mr. Rapin and Mrs. Gargaro helping to facilitate.
