Equestrian Team

The Holly Equestrian Team is a group of students who practice and compete within the Michigan Interscholastic Horsemanship Association (MIHA).  For more information about this program you visit the MIHA.org website.

Riders must own or have the ability to lease or borrow a horse for practices and meets. 
Riders compete in a multitude of events including:

  • Hunt seat showmanship, equitation, bareback and equitation over fences
  • Saddle seat showmanship, equitation, bareback and pattern
  • Western showmanship, equitation, bareback and reining/western riding
  • Trail 
  • Speed (cloverleaf, flag race, two-man relay and more)

The top two teams from each division from the three districts meet at Milford High School move on to Regional Meet at Shiawassee Fairgrounds. The top two teams for each division at the Regional Meet move on to the State Championship at Midland Fairgrounds.

For the 2018 season, the Holly High School team took the District 1 Reserve Championship division "B" and a fifth place at the regional championship.
