Graduation Ticket Procedure/Distribution
Step 1) Friday, March 27th during Advisory/ Seniors will be called down to the auditorium and given a ticket acknowledgment form.
Each graduating senior will be initially allocated eight (8) tickets for the ceremony. Seniors will have one (1) week to return the acknowledgment form to the student office. The form will ask you to choose a number of tickets from zero (0) to eight (8). If a student fails to turn in the acknowledgment form, that student will be given two (2) tickets for his/her family.
Step 2) The ticket acknowledgment form is due in the student office (Mrs. Beebe's desk) by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12th.
Step 3) Once the deadline passes, we will allocate the requested tickets to each graduate, the remaining tickets will be allocated as "at will".
Step 4) The "at will" tickets will be available on a first come first serve basis, on Tuesday, May 28th (after Memorial Day). We will use an electronic ticketing request form on the website and also take phone requests (everything will be time stamped). A maximum number of additional requests will be determined once we know how many tickets are still available.
Step 5) All tickets (the initial allocation and any additionally requested tickets) will be distributed to your graduate during the mandatory graduation practice on Wednesday, June 5th (beginning at 9 a.m.) in the high school auditorium.
Senior Exemption Procedure
On Wednesday, May 8th, the main office will run a report to determine which students meet the attendance criteria. For a student to be exempt, they must have two (2) absences and two (2) tardies or less. If a student has three (3) absences or three (3) tardies (or more) then they would no longer be eligible for exam exemption.
Once the main office has determined which students are eligible based on attendance, we will run a second filter to determine student grades. If a student has maintained a B- or better in their class, he/she will be exempt from the final exam. If a student has a grade in the C (+/-) range, he/she will have the opportunity to speak with their teacher to determine if the grade may change. A student's sheet will be highlighted in yellow if an hour is eligible for a teacher override. If a course is blacked out, that hour is not eligible for exam exemption.
Exemption forms for those that qualify, will be delivered 1st hour Thursday, May 9th. Once the students have obtained their exam exemption sheets, they will take the form home to be signed by a parent/guardian. If a parent/guardian signature is not provided or if the sheet is not turned in by 12 p.m.(noon) Monday, May 13th, then the student is required to take any final exams that are part of their classes. Teachers will be provided a final list of eligible students and the hours they have been exempt from by Thursday, May 16th. Students must continue to maintain exemption status (for attendance and grades) through May 16th (when a final report will be run again).
