Holly High School Administration Announcement

We would like to share the following news with you regarding changes to our Holly High School administration team.

December 13, 2022

Dear Holly High School Families,

We would like to share the following news with you regarding changes to our Holly High School administration team.

First, we would like to congratulate Mr. LoFiego, who has accepted the position of Assistant Superintendent at Kearsley Community Schools.  Mr. LoFiego has proudly served Holly High School for the past 22 years as a teacher, athletic coach, assistant principal, and building principal since 2012.  We appreciate all that Mr. LoFiego has done for the students, staff, and families of the Holly community. He has played a central role in preparing our Bronchos for the real world and the jobs of tomorrow, and we thank him for his service to our students and families.

Mr. Lindsay has been named Interim Principal of Holly High School and will be officially taking on this role at the return of our winter break.  Mr. Lindsay is a veteran of Holly Area Schools in his 25th year in the district.  He has been a building administrator for over 11 years and taught in the social studies department prior to his time as an assistant principal.  Mr. Lindsay has a wealth of experience and knowledge as a leader and will continue preparing our Bronchos for success and moving the high school in a positive direction.

Earlier this week, we welcomed a new member to the administration team at the high school.  Melissa Wachowski accepted the position of Assistant Principal at HHS.  We are very excited to have Ms. Wachowski, who has been in education for over 12 years, on our Broncho leadership team. Ms. Wachowski has served as an English teacher, academic coach, and for the past nearly five years as an Assistant Principal at Elisabeth Ann Johnson High School in Mt. Morris.  Please join us in congratulating Ms. Wachowski.  She will officially begin her new role at Holly High School following winter break and we look forward to having her on board.

Throughout this transition, Mrs. Fettig, who accepted the position of Director of Career Programs & Business Partnerships this past fall, will continue to support Holly High School with a number of assistant principal responsibilities.  This will provide valuable cohesiveness during the transition.  At the same time, the district is pursuing opportunities for a recently retired principal to serve as a part-time assistant principal through the end of the school year.  This effort will enable Mrs. Fettig to fully take on the many CTE (Career Technology Education) related responsibilities.  We are very excited about the future of the Director role with supporting our students in career exploration and preparation through community and business partnerships.

We thank Mr. LoFiego for demonstrating to students, staff and families what Broncho Pride is all about. We also welcome Ms. Wachowski to our Broncho family, and look forward to working with our dedicated existing staff throughout the transition period.

#BronchosUnited

Sincerely,

Scott M. Roper, Superintendent
Holly Area Schools
