2025-2026 School Year Draft Calendar Information

Dear Holly Area Schools Families and Staff,
As we bring another incredible school year to a close, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude and appreciation to each of you. This year has been filled with learning, growth, resilience, and achievement—and none of it would have been possible without the support of our families and the hard work of our students and staff.
To our students: I am so proud of your dedication, effort, and perseverance. Whether you’re finishing kindergarten or recently walked across the stage with your diploma, you’ve shown what it means to be a Broncho—kind, respectful, and committed to success. I hope your summer is filled with fun, adventure, and time to relax and recharge.
To our parents and guardians: Thank you for being our partners in education. Your encouragement, involvement, and trust are vital to everything we do. We are grateful for your continued support as we work together to build a safe and nurturing environment for all students.
As we prepare for our student’s last half-day of school on Thursday, June 12, I also want to take this opportunity to respond to recent questions about next year’s school calendar. We understand there has been some confusion and misinformation circulating, so I’d like to provide you with the most accurate and current information available.
Currently, the 2025–2026 school year calendar is still being negotiated with our teacher unit and is not yet finalized. However, in the interest of helping you plan ahead, I want to share key dates that are included in the district’s current proposal:
- First Day of School (Half-Day for Students): Monday, August 25, 2025
- Anticipated Last Day of School (Half-Day): Friday, June 5, 2026
- Breaks:
- Thanksgiving - Thanksgiving is typically Wednesday through Friday of this week (11/26 - 11/28)
- Winter Break: December 22, 2025 – January 2, 2026 (as part of the Oakland County Common Calendar)
- Spring Break: March 30 – April 3, 2026 (as part of the Oakland County Common Calendar)
- Other Days Off - These are typical days when students do not attend:
- 11/4 - Election Day
- 1/19 - MLK Day
- 2/16 & 2/17 Mid-Winter Break
- 5/25 - Memorial Day
Please note that these dates are subject to change as we work through the bargaining process. We will share the official full-year calendar with all families as soon as it is finalized.
Lastly, to our incredible teachers and Broncho staff—your commitment, care, and tireless efforts have made a lasting impact on our students and community. You have gone above and beyond to educate, support, and uplift every learner. Please enjoy your rest and renewal this summer break brings.
