New Principal Introduciton
Dear Holly Middle School Families,
My name is Monica Turner and I am excited to introduce myself as the new principal of Holly Middle School. I am honored to have been selected for this position in the Holly Area School District, which is known for its student-centered instruction and high academic achievement. I know our school community well and I care deeply about our students, families, and staff. I have always held Holly Middle School very near and dear to my heart. I have not only been an administrator in Holly, but also a teacher, a student and a parent of a child in Holly. I feel so fortunate to now be given the opportunity to be the new principal at Holly Middle School.
I began my career at Holly and have had the opportunity to work in many capacities and buildings within the district over the last 19 years. I received my bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan in Flint, my master's degree and my current Education Specialist degree in Leadership from Oakland University. My career has consisted of teaching at all levels; elementary, middle school, and high school in both general education and special education. My most important job throughout my career has always been being an advocate for the student and their academic achievement.
My philosophy going forward is that everything we do in our school should be done in the best interest of our students and their academic success. I will spend a lot of time with your children, getting to know their personalities, learning styles and interests. I will celebrate their successes, small and large. I will encourage them every day and let them know they are valued and have a special place in our school community. I will ensure that all children are healthy, happy and safe, so they may learn as much as they can. I am dedicated to supporting every child, every day at Holly Middle School and I will bring the energy, enthusiasm, and thoughtfulness needed to continue to make Holly Middle School an exemplary school.
When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, daughter, grandson and dog. I also enjoy reading and staying current with the best practices in education. I am a true life-long learner.
