3 Year Old Programs

Holly Area Schools Early Childhood Department believes that individual children develop best in a nurturing classroom environment with active learning experiences.  With the HighScope curriculum, our teachers build students' confidence toward the development of skills based on Michigan Early Childhood Standards of Quality. We foster supportive relationships with families and community partners to enrich the child's emotional and social development. These beliefs guide our practice and provide the framework for program decisions.

Head Start

Head Start is a free, federally funded preschool program designed for families who meet income and other eligibility requirements designed to provide children with a high-quality early childhood education experience. The program supports school readiness by providing high-quality, full-day preschool services, Monday through Thursday.

Program times may vary by location and are currently offered at Holly Elementary, Rose Pioneer Elementary, and Davisburg Elementary.

Holly Area Schools uses the HighScope Curriculum, a research-based approach that supports all areas of child development, including social-emotional growth, physical health, language and literacy, math, science, creative arts, and social studies.

Before and after school care is available for a fee for families who need extended hours beyond the regular preschool day.

Tuition Based Preschool

Our Tuition Preschool Program offers high-quality early learning experiences for 3-year-olds, with both half-day and full-day options, Monday through Thursday. Tuition is based on a full-week schedule; we do not offer partial-week enrollment.

Approximate Program Hours (Final times TBD based on building schedules):

  • Half Day: Approximately 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Full Day: Approximately 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM

Currently, this program is offered at Holly Elementary, Rose Elementary and Davisburg Elementary.

Children must be three years old on or before December 1 of the current school year to enroll. There are no eligibility requirements—this program is open to all families.
