4 Year Old Program
Holly Area Schools Early Childhood Department believes that individual children develop best in a nurturing classroom environment with active learning experiences. With the HighScope curriculum, our teachers build students' confidence toward the development of skills based on Michigan Early Childhood Standards of Quality. We foster supportive relationships with families and community partners to enrich the child's emotional and social development. These beliefs guide our practice and provide the framework for program decisions. |
Great Start Readiness Program
GSRP is Michigan’s free state-funded preschool program for four-year-olds, designed to provide children with a high-quality early childhood education experience. Research shows that children who attend GSRP make significant developmental gains compared to those who do not attend preschool.
The program supports school readiness by providing high-quality, full-day preschool services, Monday through Thursday.
Programs are currently offered at:
- Holly Elementary
- Rose Pioneer Elementary
- Davisburg Elementary
- Patterson Elementary
School hours vary by location.
Holly Area Schools uses the HighScope Curriculum, a research-based approach that supports all areas of child development, including social-emotional growth, physical health, language and literacy, mathematics, science, creative arts, and social studies.
Before and after school care is available for a fee for families who need extended care outside of program hours.
Enrollment Requirements
Step 1: County Enrollment – Michigan Early Childhood Connect
All families must first complete the Oakland County universal preschool application through the Michigan Early Childhood Connect (MiECC) system. This step is required before district enrollment can begin.
- You may complete the application independently, or
- Request assistance from an Oakland County Care Coordinator who can guide you by phone.
- Once submitted, the Holly Early Childhood team will be notified and we’ll begin the next steps for enrollment.
Complete the MiECC Application
Step 2:
After your county application is submitted, you will be contacted by our Holly Area Schools Early Childhood Team to complete your child’s enrollment in Skyward, our district’s student information system.
Placement into classrooms is finalized once all three steps above are completed. If you need support with any of these steps, please contact the preschool secretary or the Principal of Early Childhood.
