Subject: Support for Families During SNAP Benefit Delays
Dear Families of Holly Area Schools,
We know many families may rely on SNAP benefits to help put food on the table. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) has posted the following update on their website:
Per the federal USDA Food and Nutrition Service, due to the federal government shutdown, there may be a delay in issuing November 2025 food assistance benefits. Please check MI Bridges for updates. You can also visit MI 211 to find food resources near you. (See FAQs on the MDHHS website.)
While this pause is expected to be temporary, we understand the added stress and the real impact it can have on household meals. Please know we are here to offer support:
- Free school meals: We encourage all students to take part in our free breakfast and lunch each day that school is in session. This is a reliable way to help ensure children have nutritious meals.
- Local food resources: Families seeking additional support can:
- Dial 2-1-1 or visit mi211.org for nearby food pantries and assistance programs.
- Visit the Food Bank Council of Michigan to locate food banks in your area:fbcmich.org.
- Dial 2-1-1 or visit mi211.org for nearby food pantries and assistance programs.

With care and support,
