HOLLY, Mich. — Holly High School Bronchos learned about the importance of acceptance and tolerance for their fellow classmates while being wowed by world-class BMX athletes during a recent visit from the No Hate Tour.
The Sept. 3 assembly combined high-energy BMX performances with inspiring messages about kindness, inclusion and standing up against bullying. The performances were interspersed with personal stories and motivational lessons from performers.
“The No Hate Tour was a unique and highly successful event and started off the school year with a powerful message of acceptance, understanding and respect in our schools and Broncho community,” said Scott Roper, Holly Area Schools superintendent. “I would like to thank the amazing performers, Principal Melissa Wachowski and the school’s staff who made this great event possible.”
The nationally recognized No Hate Tour, now in its 25th year, encourages students to reflect on the message of acceptance to help build a stronger, safer and more caring school community where everyone is valued. During the event, students learn practical strategies to support their peers, prevent bullying, and strengthen their sense of belonging at school.
“The No Hate Tour is just the latest example of our district’s continued commitment to promoting a culture of acceptance, respect and compassion among all Bronchos,” Roper said. “We look forward to planning more opportunities to promote these values critical to the success of our Bronchos in the months ahead.”
