Dear Families and Staff of Holly Area Schools,

Holly Area Schools places a strong value on Early Childhood Education and is deeply committed to providing high-quality learning experiences for our youngest learners and their families. With this commitment in mind, we are excited to share important next steps and enhancements to our Early Childhood and Latchkey Programs.

Beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, Holly Area Schools will implement several enhancements designed to better serve our growing Early Childhood population and support long-term student success.

North Holly Early Childhood Campus – Sherman Campus
We are currently completing renovations at the Sherman Campus building to better accommodate Early Childhood programming on the north end of the district. This location will become the home tothe North Holly Early Childhood Campus, primarily serving families from Holly Elementary and Patterson Elementary.

Across the region, many school districts are moving toward centralized Early Childhood campuses. This model allows for improved staffing efficiency, increased collaboration among educators, andshared planning in a connected environment that supports aligned instructional practices. It also ensures fiscally responsible program management while maintaining the high-quality programming our families expect.

Early Childhood and Latchkey families from Holly Elementary and Patterson Elementary Schools can look forward to the following when they move to the new North Holly Early Childhood Campus at Sherman next Fall:

  • Newly renovated classroom spaces

  • Early Childhood-friendly restrooms

  • A new Early Childhood playground (scheduled for installation in summer 2026)

  • Updated meeting and office spaces to support Early Childhood program administration

Continued programming in South Holly
Holly Area Schools spans a large geographic area, and we remain committed to providing accessible programming for families throughout our community. Early Childhood classrooms and Latchkey programs will continue to operate at Davisburg Elementary and Rose Pioneer Elementary to serve families on the south side of the district.

As part of this ongoing planning, families will receive a Long-Term Facility Master Planning Survey next week. One area of feedback we are seeking is community support for a potential South Holly Early Childhood Campus, similar to the enhancements underway at the Sherman Campus.

Planning for Growth and Access
Establishing dedicated Early Childhood campuses allows the district to meet current enrollment demand and pursue additional funding opportunities to expand programming. Due to limited classroom space in our    Y5 – 5 elementary buildings and steady enrollment growth over the past four years, the district currently maintains a waiting list for Early Childhood programs. These enhancements position us to better serve families now and into the future.

We are thrilled about the future of Early Childhood Education at Holly Area Schools and the creation of purpose-designed learning environments that support school readiness and long-term academic success for our youngest Bronchos.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership.

Sincerely,
Holly Area School District and Early Childhood Administration
