Upgraded Holly Stadium one of 22 athletic facilities nationwide to receive prestigious award
State-of-the-art athletic facility demonstrates promises made, kept to Broncho community from voter-approved 2022 Bond
HOLLY, Mich. — The upgraded Holly Stadium has been honored as one of the 2025 Distinguished Single Field Facilities,a prestigious annual award given by the trade group American Sports Builders Association. The upgraded athletic field was made possible by the generosity of the Broncho community who supported the 2022 Bond.
Holly Stadium is one of just 22 athletic facilities across the country recognized by the association for facilities that “exemplify construction excellence, provide a superior experience for athletes and are aesthetically pleasing for their communities.” The Holly athletic field is included in a class that includes collegiate-level facilities like Bryant-Denny Stadium at the University of Alabama.
“We are thrilled to see Holly Stadium included on such a short list of exemplary athletic facilities across the country by this prestigious national organization,” said Scott Roper, Holly Area Schools superintendent. “Our upgraded Holly Stadium demonstrates promises made and kept to our Broncho community who generously supported our 2022 Bond.”
The upgraded Holly Stadium officially opened in August 2024 and includes renovation of the track and athletic turf field. The improved facility provides Bronchos with a top-notch venue for athletic events, physical education classes, band performances and more.
Work has already begun on one of our summer 2026 construction projects that includes the addition of a new Holly Stadium entrance, featuring a brand-new ticket booth and a Broncho statue to proudly welcome fans and visitors. This project represents our school spirit and will be a great symbol of Broncho Pride for generations to come.
Holly Stadium is one of numerous improvements supported by the 2022 Bond, also including the new Holly Middle School, which opened in the fall, Construction Trades Center at Holly High School, and the district’s new tennis complex.
“All of these improvements and upgrades were made possible by our Broncho community that continues to invest in the success of our Bronchos, whether they are bound for college, skilled trades careers, military service or jobs right after graduation,” Roper said. “The success of these projects — and many more to come from the 2022 Bond — also demonstrates our continued commitment to fiscal stewardship and accountability to our entire school community.”
