BVS Elementary Virtual Learners require significant support from adults at home. Students will also be supported by a HAS teacher virtually. Reading intervention resources will be provided for struggling readers. The majority of their work will be completed online with the necessary printed materials and supplies provided when requested. Students will have weekly live virtual sessions with their HAS teacher for progressing monitoring and wellness check-ins. Elementary students are expected to work in their courses daily and must meet and maintain enrollment criteria in order to participate or remain in the virtual program. Enrollment criteria includes required in-person sessions, such as Count Days and district and state testing, and weekly mentor sessions, at a minimum.
BVS Middle School Virtual Learners require home support in order to stay organized and on pace with their coursework. Students will be supported by HAS BVS teachers and will have the option to attend in-person sessions during Learning Lab days/hours. The majority of the coursework will be completed online with printed materials and supplies provided when necessary and upon request. Students will have weekly live virtual sessions with their HAS mentor teacher. BVS VL students will be expected to stay within one week of target due dates and must complete orientation, count day activities, and district and state testing in-person.
BVS High School Virtual Learners will work with their counselor to discuss and select their schedule of courses. Students will be supported by dedicated HAS BVS teachers and will have the option to attend in-person sessions during Learning Lab days/hours. BVS students will be expected to stay within one week of target due dates and must complete orientation, count day activities, and district and state testing in-person. BVS Virtual Learning students who complete all Holly High School graduation requirements will be eligible to receive a Holly High School diploma and attend the HHS commencement ceremony.
Students in our BVS EXCEL Alternative Program will work with our BVS counselor to develop a personalized schedule of classes necessary to earn a high school diploma, which meets Michigan Merit Curriculum requirements. EXCEL Alternative students will complete online courses and are required to attend weekly in-person lab sessions to receive support from BVS teachers/mentors. Students who complete the EXCEL Alternative graduation requirements will receive a Broncho Virtual School EXCEL Alternative diploma and be invited to attend a special commencement ceremony for EXCEL Alternative students. Their family and friends are encouraged to attend the ceremony.
