Broncho LINK

Broncho LINK empowers independent learners through a fully asynchronous virtual learning program on a traditional Holly High School diploma pathway.  HAS students in grades 3-12 are eligible to apply.  Our LINK students are taught by HAS teachers using the platform Accelerate Education.  

Attendance

LINK students meet virtually three times a week with their assigned mentor teacher.  On Mondays and Fridays, they meet individually with their mentor teacher.  On Wednesdays, they meet in a virtual lab setting with their mentor and peers of their age level.  Individual mentor meetings are focused on individual growth, progress monitor, and helping the student make appointments for any academic or counseling needs.  Virtual lab sessions on Wednesdays focus on school announcements, social and emotional lessons, and career readiness projects.

Scheduling, Courses, and Grading

In our LINK program, elementary and middle school students will be scheduled into six courses, four core subjects and two electives, each trimester.  Our LINK high school students will be scheduled into five courses following their graduation needs each trimester.  All LINK students, grades 3-12, will scheduled into a Seminar course with their mentor teacher.  This course will serve as a homebase for mentor connections and lab needs.

Grading in our LINK program is much like the in-person setting, using an A-E scale.  LINK middle and high school course grades are factored into GPAs.  All grades are a part of the student's permanent academic records.

In-Person Requirements

Broncho LINK students do have in-person requirements that they must attend.  These include but are not limited to Orientation, Count Days (in October and February), and any scheduled district or state testing.  All in-person requirements will be at our Sherman Campus location, 14470 N. Holly Road, in our Broncho Virtual Learning Lab, with the exception of some district and state testing requirements.  Please check out our In-Person Requirements list for more details.

Application Process

To apply for our LINK program, please check out our Application section.  Please note, applications will be reviewed by counselors, administrators, and any necessary special services team members to determine program eligibility.  Once eligibility is determined, students and families will be notified.  

Application deadlines are posted yearly on the Broncho Virtual website.  Applications are accepted each trimester for the upcoming trimester, but deadlines are strictly enforced.  Failure to apply on time will result in eligibility denied for the upcoming trimester, as new applicants are only accepted at the beginning of each trimester.
