What's Happening in Holly Area Schools - Archives
I would like to wish all Holly Area Schools students, families and staff, and the entire Holly community a safe and joyous holiday season.

The Holly Area School District needs to fill a vacant seat on their Board of Education. The term of this vacancy would run for two years from January 1, 2019 through December 31, 2020. To be an eligible candidate, you must reside and be a registered voter within the boundaries of the Holly Area School District. You must also be a U.S. citizen and at least 18 years of age. The Board holds their regular monthly meetings on the second Monday of each month.

The Learning Environments focus of our November bond proposal will include; Improving access to current technology and expanded wireless service, Providing new instructional devices for students and staff, Developing collaborative student-centered learning environments
The Building & Site Improvements focus of our November bond proposal will include; Improving building energy efficiency to extend their useful lives, Replacing failing heating and cooling systems, Replacing inefficient lighting and electrical systems, Replacing aged roofing, inefficient windows and worn interior finishes, Upgrading technology infrastructure, Improving parking lots and sidewalks, Improving elementary playgrounds
The Safety and Security focus of the November bond will include; Adding secure entrances at all school buildings, Providing new door hardware for classrooms, Adding video surveillance, Improving exterior lighting and upgrades to fire alarm systems, Addressing vehicular traffic challenges for pedestrian safety
Have you been wondering if this bond proposal will impact your taxes? The answer is that there is no expected tax rate increase to taxpayers. The Board of Education is asking the taxpayers of Holly Area Schools to maintain the current tax rate.
On November 6, 2018 our community will vote on a Holly Area Schools bond proposal. If approved by voters, this bond proposal would provide $38,150,000 for district-wide improvements, with no tax rate increase to taxpayers.

We are happy to announce we will again be offering the Meet Up and Eat Up summer food service program to provide meals for children at no charge. Meet Up and Eat Up (Menus are posted on this page)
All students in grades Y5 - 3rd will be participating in the Kids Read Now program that begins this spring and runs through the end of August. Visit our Summer Reading page for more information!

This is our 3rd Empty Bowls event! This year we are adding an option for families to paint a bowl on the evening of the event on April 16th, which they will be able to take home at a later date. To participate in this opportunity we are requesting a $10.00 minimum donation. The option to purchase a completed bowl for a $5.00 minimum donation remains. All donors will be invited to a cereal buffet and live music. Thank you for helping to support the Holly Blessings in a Backpack program!
