What's Happening in Holly Area Schools - Archives
Holly Area Schools will be closed today, February 7, 2019 due to black ice and intermittent freezing rain beginning this morning. This was a difficult decision and we thank you for your understanding.
Holly Area Schools are allowing all high school contests and non-mandatory varsity only practices today after 2:00 p.m. The Varsity Wrestling team will be traveling to Fenton for the MHSAA Team District (with a bus departure of 3:00). The Freshman and JV Boys Basketball Teams will be traveling to Fenton/AGS Middle School for their games tonight (with a bus departure of 4:15). All MS, Freshman, and JV practices are not permitted via our inclement weather practice.

The Holly Area School District needs to fill a vacant seat on their Board of Education. The term of this vacancy would run for two years from January 1, 2019 through December 31, 2020. To be an eligible candidate, you must reside and be a registered voter within the boundaries of the Holly Area School District. You must also be a U.S. citizen and at least 18 years of age. The Board holds their regular monthly meetings on the second Monday of each month.

The Learning Environments focus of our November bond proposal will include; Improving access to current technology and expanded wireless service, Providing new instructional devices for students and staff, Developing collaborative student-centered learning environments
The Building & Site Improvements focus of our November bond proposal will include; Improving building energy efficiency to extend their useful lives, Replacing failing heating and cooling systems, Replacing inefficient lighting and electrical systems, Replacing aged roofing, inefficient windows and worn interior finishes, Upgrading technology infrastructure, Improving parking lots and sidewalks, Improving elementary playgrounds
The Safety and Security focus of the November bond will include; Adding secure entrances at all school buildings, Providing new door hardware for classrooms, Adding video surveillance, Improving exterior lighting and upgrades to fire alarm systems, Addressing vehicular traffic challenges for pedestrian safety
Have you been wondering if this bond proposal will impact your taxes? The answer is that there is no expected tax rate increase to taxpayers. The Board of Education is asking the taxpayers of Holly Area Schools to maintain the current tax rate.
On November 6, 2018 our community will vote on a Holly Area Schools bond proposal. If approved by voters, this bond proposal would provide $38,150,000 for district-wide improvements, with no tax rate increase to taxpayers.

We are happy to announce we will again be offering the Meet Up and Eat Up summer food service program to provide meals for children at no charge. Meet Up and Eat Up (Menus are posted on this page)
