HOLLY, Mich. — Holly Area Schools is honoring the district Board of Education’s continued commitment to the Broncho community’s students, families and staff during School Board Recognition Month. The honorary month in January, officially recognized by the state of Michigan, acknowledges the key role school board members play in preparing students for success and careers.
The district’s board consists of President Leigh Jackson, Vice President Jennifer Young, Treasurer Peter Deahl, Secretary Lisa Oaks and trustees Linda Blair, Sean Creger and Dr. Liz Cunningham.
“On behalf of our Holly Area Schools students, parents and staff, I want to express our heartfelt appreciation to the members of our Holly Area Schools Board of Education for their commitment to our educational community,” said Scott Roper, Holly Area Schools superintendent. “Our board members directly impact the lives of our students through their leadership, direction and support of so many incredible initiatives.”
Those initiatives include the board’s leadership in long-term master planning over the past decade, providing enhanced safety and security measures in the district, and an increased focus on college and career preparation. The board has also guided planning and construction of the state-of-the-art, award-winning Construction Trades Center at Holly High School, the new Holly Middle School, and the new Holly Community Enrichment Center at Sherman Campus scheduled to open in Spring 2026.
“The leadership of our School Board has created an environment where learning thrives and students flourish,” Roper said. “We want to thank our School Board for their selfless contributions, passion for education, and the countless hours they invest in ensuring the success of our schools.”
