Secure Mode Announcement - December 8th
The safety of our students, families and staff is our number one priority.
At approximately 9:20 a.m. this morning, staff members at Davisburg Elementary observed two individuals in the drive near the bus loop area of the building. The building principal, Mrs. Kott, checked the area and at that time noticed an Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputy addressing a situation with the other individual.
Oakland County Sheriff’s Department reported that in response to a call, they observed the suspect walking near the area of the building’s west driveway. The Deputy responded and quickly put him in custody.
Within minutes, the suspect was in custody and we were assured that there was no danger. At no time was there a threat to Davisburg Elementary and Holly Area Schools. Other than the location of the incident, there is no apparent connection to the community of Holly. However, out of an abundance of caution, the building moved into Secure Mode to limit hallway traffic, prohibit visitors, restrict outdoor activity, and heighten overall security awareness. Secured Mode was lifted by 9:30 am.
We maintain a positive relationship and ongoing communication with all our local law enforcement agencies. We appreciate your support and will continue to keep our families updated regarding situations impacting our schools.
