Spanish Club/Spanish National Honor Society

Rocks painted as Spanish Masks - Day of the dead

SHH, la Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica is an honor society at Holly High School for students who have a passion and aptitude for Spanish. Members are juniors and seniors, who have achieved academic success in their Spanish classes, advancing through the upper level Spanish courses.  Members offer tutoring for Spanish courses, develop and implement enrichment opportunities for Spanish students, and do international works, like the Pulsera Project.

Members are  invited based on a GPA  of 3.5 or higher in their Spanish classes.  Once inducted, members complete 32 hours of service by graduation.  Senior inductees must complete 22 hours by graduation.  SHH meets twice a month and currently has 9 members.

2022-2023 Happenings!

SHH became the year with a fun "Guess how much candy is in the piñata?" challenge for all students.

We inducted 5 new members into the society in October. ¡Bienvenidos!

SHH members offer tutoring on Wednesdays and Thursdays in the Learning Loft.  This is a perfect way to get extra help or simply to study with someone that knows Spanish!

SHH members served as judges for the Spanish 2 Ofrenda Challenge! Members observed each ofrenda using a checklist of requirements and helped the staff judges determine the three best ofrendas in each class.  Members were quite impressed with the quality of work from the level 2 students.  ¡Buen trabajo, estudiantes!

SHH welcomed World Cup competition in November and December with a "Guess who will win!" game for HHS!  The winner received a commemorative World Cup 2022 ball and a gift card to a area restaurant.
